HISTORY AND BEGINNING

On Sunday, June 15, 1997, in the Sunday Morning Celebration, Covenant received a remarkable visitation of the Holy Spirit. During the ministry time, the Spirit moved very powerfully and people began weeping, crying out to the Lord with renewed fervor and falling to the floor similar to the days of John Wesley and Charles Finney. A hunger was sparked in the people for more of God. The people in the body began experiencing the power of God in their everyday lives at work, home and school. Clearly something fresh was occurring.

Since then, pastors, intercessors, relatives and friends have come in from all over South Florida, from other parts of this nation and from around the world to experience a touch from the Lord. A strong impartation occurs regularly in the meetings. Those who receive ministry during the celebrations and services report great refreshing, a return to the first love for the Lord, healings—both physical and emotional—and a call to deeper intercessory prayer. Our lives were changed. A new fire was ignited.

The move of God was very attractive. As local ministries endeavor to grow and increase according to New Testament patterns they are also beginning to relate to the apostolic. As a result, several pastors and ministry leaders have expressed their desire to be a part of what God is doing at Covenant. There is a need for a venue where pastors and leaders could network, share, encourage and enjoy each other, as well as continue to stay in the manifest presence of God. Understanding this to be God’s will, and with great passion and conviction, the Covenant Apostolic Network was created—a joining together of congregations, pastors, ministers, ministries and leaders.

OBJECTIVES

UNIQUELY APOSTOLIC
Covenant Apostolic Network is a networked family of churches and ministries where relationship, support, accountability and resourcing occur. We are a family of congregations and ministries voluntarily united for the purpose of fulfilling the apostolic mandate of the Church. Together we are a team!

To fulfill the mandate of the Holy Spirit in these last days requires equipping, cooperation and passion! To this end many local churches throughout the world are recognizing a need for the full restoration of all the Ephesians 4:11-16 ascension gifts; apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.

The early church operated under a spiritual government where these ascension gift ministries were in full operation, working as a team equipping and releasing saints to the work of the ministry. It is essential that this form of apostolic order be rstored in the Church.

Christians are becoming aware that there are apostolic men and women who function as spiritual parents. God wants his people cared for and mentored by these apostolic parents.
