Our
Story |
 |
| |
| On Sunday, June 15, 1997, in the Sunday
Morning Celebration, Covenant received a remarkable
visitation of the Holy Spirit. During ministry time,
the Spirit moved very powerfully and people began weeping,
crying out to the Lord with renewed fervor and falling
to the floor similar to the days of John Wesley and
Charles Finney. Many who were in the Celebration were
shocked and thrilled with what was occurring, and a
hunger was sparked in the people for more of God. We
left that afternoon around 3:00 p.m.
The next evening, a group of twelve intercessors
spontaneously met to experience the unusual pouring
out of power and the glory of God. They then returned
Tuesday evening for more intercession and basking
in the Lord's presence. The people in the body began
experiencing the power of God in their everyday lives-at
work, home or even in the bed at night. Clearly something
fresh was occurring. This small band of eight to twelve
intercessors continued to meet every Monday and Tuesday
evening for intercession, worship and tarrying in
the presence and glory of the Lord. Soon the group
expanded to thirty; Monday and Tuesday evenings became
regular revival/renewal services. Our current schedule
includes regular Friday Night Renewal services.
Pastors, intercessors, relatives and friends have
come in from all over South Florida, from other parts
of this nation and from around the world to experience
a touch from the Lord. A strong impartation occurs
regularly in the meetings. Those who receive ministry
during the celebrations and services report great
refreshing, a return to their first love for the Lord,
healings—both physical and emotional—and
a call to deeper intercessory prayer. Repentance,
conviction and an awareness of sin are also characteristic
for those who open themselves to the presence of the
Lord at Covenant. People's lives are being changed
and transformed. Individuals who have run from God
their whole lives are surrendering at the altar. People's
petitions for themselves and for loved ones are being
answered very quickly as well.
God has opened the heavens and there is a grace
anointing over Covenant Centre. Those who enter are
refreshed, transformed and restored. The fire of God
and power of God not only continues sustained but
also increases. Miracles continue to occur. We desire
more, more, more of God. Come experience the refreshing
of the Lord and revival fire in your life at Covenant. |

Essentials
of Faith |
 |
| |
The Bible, the God-inspired sixty-six
books of the Old and New Testaments, is a complete and
unified witness to God's redemptive acts in history
culminating in the incarnation of the Living Word, the
Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible, uniquely and fully inspired
by the Holy Spirit, contains all we need to know concerning
God's will for our salvation, faith, and life. On this
sure foundation we affirm these "Essentials of
Our Faith":
- We believe in one God, the sovereign Creator
and Sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect
and eternally subsisting in three Persons: Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit. To Him be all honor, glory
and praise forever!
- Jesus Christ, the living Word, became flesh through
His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and
His virgin birth. He Who is true God became true
man united in one Person forever. He died on the
cross a sacrifice for our sins according to the
Scriptures. On the third day He arose bodily from
the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right
hand of the Majesty on High, He now is our High
Priest and Mediator.
- The Holy Spirit has come to glorify Christ and
to apply the saving work of Christ to our hearts.
He convicts us of sin and draws us to the Savior.
Indwelling our hearts, He gives new life to us,
empowers and imparts gifts to us for service, instructs
and guides us into all truth, and seals us for the
day of redemption.
- Being estranged from God and condemned by our
sinfulness, our salvation is wholly dependent upon
the work of God's free grace. God credits His righteousness
to those who put their faith in Christ alone for
their salvation, thereby justifying them in His
sight. Only such as are born of the Holy Spirit
and receive Jesus Christ become children of God
and heirs of eternal life.
- The true Church is composed of all persons who,
through saving faith in Jesus Christ and the sanctifying
work of the Holy Spirit, are united together in
the body of Christ. The Church finds her visible,
yet imperfect, expression in local congregations
where Jesus Christ is celebrated as Lord and Head
of His Church, the Word of God is preached in its
purity, the sacraments are administered in their
integrity, scriptural discipline is practiced, and
loving fellowship is maintained. For her perfecting,
she awaits the return of her Lord.
- Jesus Christ will come again to the earth, personally,
visibly, and bodily, to judge the living and the
dead, and to consummate history and the eternal
plan of God. "Even so, come, Lord Jesus."
(Revelation 22:20)
- The Lord Jesus Christ commands all believers
to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and
to make disciples of all peoples. Obedience to the
Great Commission requires total commitment to "Him
who loved us and gave Himself for us." He calls
us to a life of self-denying love and service. "For
we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus
for good works, which God prepared beforehand that
we should walk in them." (Ephesians 2:1
In these Essentials we must have unity. In those
issues not essential to the establishment of the Church
invisible we have liberty. And in all things we must
always have love. |

Vision
Statement |
 |
| |
| We are a celebrating people. Our distinctive
vibrant celebrations, practical teachings for powerful
living, personal caring for others through relationship
with Jesus, and proclamation of God's Kingdom rule thorugh
the fullness of the Holy Spirit have touched lives around
the world. Covenant Centre International is an equipping
and sending station; a prayer, healing and revival centre.
People come to experience a touch of God and then are
sent out by the Holy Spirit to take His message of love
and hope to the nations. |
| |
 |
Philosophy |
 |
| |
The Life of our Family Has Dynamic Vision:
- We are a celebrating people. We reflect the light
of Christ and give vibrant praise and worship to
the most Holy One. We must continually develop ways
to express our adoration, praise, and thanksgiving
for all that God has done for us. Worship must be
a reflection of our relationship to God and our
service to Him.
- We are enriching people. We help people grow
up in Christ. We faithfully mentor all who come
into relationship with Jesus. We facilitate spiritual
growth and development through practical teachings
for real life by real people from a real God. We
need to know and understand what the Scriptures
teach. The Scriptures, through the Holy Spirit,
provide the models and the guidelines for our lives
and ministry. We are an equipping center. We are
training and activating the people of God for service.
- We are community. We are people connected together
through whole (holy) relationships. We are caregivers
and nurturers. We provide a loving, sensitive, supportive
and healing environment through relationships.
- We are sharing people. We give Christ to others
by boldly proclaiming God's rule with the passion
of the Father's love. We are people who "go
forth." We are active in sending forth laborers
into the harvest both here and around the world.
We believe in aggressive service in our city and
beyond.
Our Church Family Lives by Practical Principles:
- Spirit-invited and Spirit-led celebrations including
informality and spontaneity.
- Relational networking and connectedness; this
is to be realized through ministry groups, small
groups and personal caring, nurturing and mentoring.
- Practical teachings characterized by real life
application and immediate usefulness; allowing God's
word to speak to us at our point of need.
- Reflective accountability; recognizing what God
is doing and do it; honor each person's unique giftedness
and practice mutuality.
